Linkbelt Revolving Disc Screens
Link-Belt® Revolving Disc Screens

Disc screens are designed to remove fine solids from liquids. The solids must not be greasy, gummy or sticky. The liquid may be river, lake or other surface water which is to be used for industrial purposes, or is to be purified in a water teatment plant. The liquid may also be Municipal sewage which has received primary teatment and where screening is desirable to prevent cloggin of rotary distributor nozzles, fouling of utility wash pumps and lines, or for removal of floating solids which would be unsightly in the reveiving stream.

The disc screen is constructed of structual or stainless steel and covered with a stainless steel cloth of 2 to 60 mesh. The screen is supported on a rotating shaft which i smounted in two bearings about 6" above the pre-determined fixed water level.

As the liquid passes thru the screen the solids are retained and elevated above the water level and then flushed by spray nozzles to a refuse trough. A 6" deep rim and 6 lifting arms assist in elevating the solids to the trough. the screenings can be either dewatered or discharged with the spray water.

The revolving disc screen is economical to install due to its simplified design, rugged construction and minimum maintenance costs.
